First Project

After learning more of Revit through the tutorials we were asked to re-design a space of our choosing and model it in Revit. I am using the studio apartment that we designed in Jake Tucci's class and adding a second floor to it that acts as the bedroom.

Revit

In class we've been working with a computer program called revit. In order to better learn the program we were given three sections of a tutorial to go through...this is a product of the first and second part of the tutorial.

Response to First Article

(Upon viewing my blog this afternoon i realized that my internet cutting out made it so that my response was not visible. Please know that i had my response up by class on the twenty seventh)

Learning the origins of something that your passionate about is always not only interesting, but important. “Computing in Architectural Design” explains the origins of perspective and it’s influence on structural forms, and also gives a relatively detailed explanation of the origins of computer aided design programs. Even in 1963 a professor at MIT, Ivan Sutherland, envisioned the makings of the programs we use today. This notion is absolutely incredible. He was thinking WAY beyond his years to technology that we beginning to use today. His vision of “a designer seated at a console, drawing a sketch of his proposed device on the screen of an oscilloscope tube with a “light pen,” modifying his sketch at will, and commanding the computer slave to refine the sketch into a perfect drawing, to perform various numerical analyses,” is absolutely mind blowing. This is technology that we are refining to do just as he envisioned, and it’s fifty years in the future. What will we be doing fifty years from today? These programs are revolutionary and change the way that people function today. It’s difficult for people living now to understand how people lived a hundred years before us, but just think about how people a hundred years from now will view how we live our lives.

A PLACE i would be happy to re-design

I'm currently moving into an apartment with my boyfriend and it is a very tight space for two people. It is my first apartment and i am so excited to move in on friday and have my very own place. But i need some good inspiration as to how create divisions within the space so that we can do our own thing and still be in the same place.

Happy Place

This is the southern coast of New Jersey. The shore. My family has been going there since before i was born. We got this yellow house when i was two and we've gone there for at least three weeks every summer. It's two blocks away from the beach and two blocks in the opposite direction from the bay. All stores and food joints are a block away on Dune Dr. I have never had a bad summer at this magical place. With a ping pong table in the garage and a few surf boards our family never gets bored and when we get sick of each other there's always an escape to the porch with a book. All of he harry potter books have been read thoroughly several times over on this porch. I only wish i could spend more time here.
